This 1700's hand hewn oak log cabin was dismantled from its original location in NC where it was shipped to MD and reassembled on a hand made brick foundation. Each log was inspected by an engineer. All new electric, plumbing, water softener system, well, septic and HVAC were installed when reconstructed. We were told it was the first project of its kind in Washington County Maryland. Built in 2015.

Hand made brick was also used for the bathroom addition with refurbished clawfoot tub and expansive shower
A standing seam metal roof was constructed.
Cypress wood was used for soffit and where applicable
Period nails were used where applicable.
First floor floorboards were taken from an old farm house and reused.

Exterior doors are Spanish cedar custom made by local mill
Porch was constructed using oak threshing floorboards from a barn and hand hewn posts.

BARN
This Chestnut barn frame was dismantled from its original location in PA where it was shipped to MD and reassembled on a new concrete foundation. New pegs were used in its reassembly. The exposed beams are visible within the structure.
Cypress wood siding was used
2 large iron windows were custom made in NJ for the front
An architect designed a bedroom-bathroom addition (currently unfinished) which was added using hand made brick matching the cabin
A standing seam metal roof was constructed

OTHER
The cabin and barn sit on 4.5 acres of prime land in the desirable neighborhood of Beaver Creek populated by restored stone homes and a historic refurbished Old Mill property.
30 plus Honeycrisp and Fuji apple trees were planted in the rear of the property.
A reflecting pond was built with a running waterfall feature between the barn and cabin and next to the stone patio in the rear of the cabin.
